Suicide Awareness In The Workplace

Build on existing mental health training to learn how to support a co-worker who may have suicidal thoughts

Description

If work pressures grow, and if they are ignored, they can cause a decline in a person’s mental health. If these pressures are severe enough, and mix with other personal problems, it may even lead to suicidal thoughts.

In this session you will find out how to spot the warning signs of suicide, you’ll develop skills and confidence to provide basic support to colleagues who are having suicidal thoughts, and you’ll learn to take steps towards reducing stigma and creating a supportive workplace culture. This training is designed to supplement mental health or Psychological First Aid training, as participants will need to have foundational mental health or psychosocial support awareness.
