Top Ten Books Written By Our Team
Collectively we’ve spent decades providing travel medicine, occupational health, psychosocial care, consultancy support and training to purpose-led people and organisations who are serving others around the world. In fact we’ve literally written text books on these subjects. Here’s ten of them.
1. The Travellers’ Good Health Guide — Sheldon Press, 2002
This book provides health and wellbeing advice for long-stay travellers, especially NGO workers.
2. Psychological Support for Workers on the Move: Improving Global Staff Care — Routledge, 2023
Our team wrote two chapters in this book, including ‘Who’s the client? Limitations and advantages of therapeutic work as a psychological contractor for aid organisations’ and ‘Supporting those with religious faith in the humanitarian sector’.
3. Stress and Trauma Handbook: Strategies for Flourishing in Demanding Environments — World Vision, 2003
One of our psychosocial team wrote chapters in this handbook including ‘Preventing trauma in traumatic environments’ and ‘Assessing front line staff for stress trauma and social support: theory; practice and implications’.

For this textbook one of our team co-wrote the chapter ‘Aid workers, expatriates and travel’.

An in-depth look at preparation and prevention as well as symptoms and treatment – aimed at long-term travellers, aid workers and other professionals working in the developing world.

In this award-winning text book, one of our team co-wrote the chapter ‘Re-entry after long-term or travel abroad’.
