Claudia Smith

Counsellor & Church Lead

Claudia is an accredited counsellor (BACP) with over a decade of experience. For the last 10 years, she has been based in the UK supporting individuals with a range of issues including anxiety, bereavement, depression, workplace stress, burnout and wellbeing. Claudia’s counselling approach is holistic, applying an integration of Person-Centred, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles. She aims to create a safe and collaborative space to explore issues and find a way forward to feeling better and building personal resilience.

Claudia spent five years working in Uganda. During this time, she trained teachers in counselling and guidance, created training programs for church children’s leaders, and co-founded the Bakiga Community Project—a water development NGO which she continues to support as a trustee. Through her own experience of living overseas with her family, she understands the importance of cross-cultural workers being well supported in their transitions on and off the field. She loves to help individuals develop their own wellbeing foundations through creating space to reflect on their life and work, encouraging them to enjoy life whilst on assignments.

Claudia has also completed training in Coaching and Pastoral Supervision. She is passionate in supporting individuals involved in Church leadership to build personal resilience and thrive. When she is not working, Claudia enjoys relaxing by listening to music, cooking, making birthday cakes, and walking in nature.
Claudia is based in the UK.
